Issued: August 01 2009

Exploit Technologies, the Singapore Workforce Development Agency and the Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR) have launched the Traineeship for Technology Transfer Management to build a pool of savvy technopreneurs proficient in managing intellectual property and commercialising technology and research, according to a joint statement by the programme’s founders.

The programme aims to provide training and upgrading opportunities for Singaporeans and Singapore Permanent Residents to acquire new skills and widen their career options, build up a pool of competent technology transfer professionals for Singapore and prepare trainees to meet manpower needs in both the private and public sectors. The curriculum consists of more than 25 modules which include courses on IP management, licensing, technology disclosure, IP marketing and business plan writing.

In the final eight months of the programme, the statement says, trainees will opt to specialise in one of three work areas: IP management, commercialisation of technology or technopreneurship.
