Rouse has announced that Bassel El Turk has been named the firm’s country manager for the United Arab Emirates from April 2018. El Turk joined Rouse in 2006 as a paralegal, progressing through the ranks to become an executive, the firm’s equivalent of partner, in 2016. He has been deputy country manager since late 2017. El Turk has led Rouse’s MENA dispute resolution team for several years and manages the IP portfolios of multinational clients across the Middle East and North Africa, as well as regional clients worldwide. His predecessor in the country manager role, Chad Dowle, will continue to be actively involved in the firm’s MENA practice as he takes on new responsibility for developing the firm’s global marketing, advertising and digital proposition and IP consultancy offering.
