AIPPI World Congress Opens in Milan
Issued: September 17 2016Italy is hosting the AIPPI World Congress for the first time since 1969
AIPPI World Congress, Milan, Italy - “We are the link between the past and the future” said Carlo Maria Faggaioni, co-chair of the organising committee for the 2016 AIPPI World Congress in Milan. The congress was returning to Italy for the first time since Venice in 1969, an event that one delegate at the opening ceremony said they had attended.
The AIPPI World Congress was opened with a spectacular music and film display, showcasing the history and beauty of Italy, it’s cultural and creative successes, and its innovative contributions to the field of IP. With over 2100 delegates attending, this year’s Congress is the largest ever, said Fagioni.
Speaking at the same event, AIPPI President Felipe Claro said that the AIPPI aims to give delegates a new perspective and a new point of view on IP. “We will continue to expand our reach and membership, and expand our influence” said Claro.
Closing out the ceremony, Renata Righetti Pelosi, the president of the AIPPI Italy national group, explained that Italy was a very old country, but that Milan and Italy was a place where a lot of innovation was taking place. “The AIPPI is a place where we build the future of IP, and I am confident we will do it together.”
