Issued: June 01 2010Foreign companies that have yet to register their trademarks in Malaysia can breathe easier, thanks to a decision from the Kuala Lumpur IP Court which ruled that first users have better rights to a mark than the first party to file the mark, and that importers and distributors of a product have no right in claiming ownership in the mark affixed to the product.
