Yan Zhao Has Been Appointed Partner At DLA Piper

Issued: July 01 2011

Yan Zhao has been appointed partner at DLA Piper, where he joins the firm’s Asia intellectual property team. Zhao, who has more than 13 years’ experience in China, is noted for his patent prosecution and patent litigation work. He will be based in Shanghai, but will also spend a significant amount of time in the firm’s Hong Kong office. Zhao joined DLA Piper from Foley & Lardner where he was senior counsel.

“[Zhao’s] arrival reflects just how serious our commitment is to building a market leading IP capability in China and is big step forward in achieving this goal,” said Matthew Glynn, partner and head of intellectual property and technology for DLA Piper in Asia. “Indeed, over the coming months we are hoping to be able to make additional announcements about the further strengthening of our IP offering in China.”
