Dorsey & Whitney Is Expanding In China With A New Office In Beijing

Dorsey & Whitney has announced that it is expanding in China and has opened an office in Beijing. Corporate partner Frank Hong will serve as head of the Beijing office. Hong’s practice focuses on advising international companies on their direct investments into China as well as advising emerging Chinese multinational corporations on their outbound investments and other aspects of doing business abroad, especially in the United States. He has substantial experience in cross-border M&A, intellectual property, international trade and customs (both in China and the US). The firm has maintained an office in Hong Kong since 1995 and in Shanghai since 2001, and serves both inbound and outbound China clients. The firm said in a statement that it has more than 20 lawyers serving clients in three Chinese offices and that in 2014, nearly 150 of its lawyers across the global platform performed significant work on China-related matters. It has Mandarin Chinese-speaking US lawyers in six US offices.
