Asim Abbas has joined Khaitan & Co in New Delhi, where he will head the firm’s telecom and media practice. He has extensive experience in regulatory, contractual and M&A transactional experience in the telecom and broadcasting sectors. He served in the Indian Civil Service in the Department of Telecommunications, and then in a leading Indian law firm as a telecom specialist. He has worked on significant transactions in the telecom and media sphere, and as vice president (legal) at the corporate office of Bharti Airtel. He joins Khaitan & Co from his boutique telecom law practice, Legal Spectrums.
