Japan Hosts IP Statistics Conference In November 2014

Issued: August 28 2014

Japan Patent Office will host the Conference on IP Statistics for Decision Makers in November 2014.

The Conference on IP Statistics for Decision Makers has been held since 2003 in a different country each year under the cooperation of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), for the purpose that government officials and academic experts in each field gather together to exchange information and have discussions on IP and economy. This year marks the 12th conference.

Japan will host this conference for the first time this year, which is a part of 50th anniversary events for Japan as a member of the OECD. A keynote, panel discussions and academic paper presentations by experts from various countries, focusing on the role that IP plays in economic development and statistical information, will be addressed.

PATSTAT, a database consisting of over 60 million patent filing information provided by more than 100 countries and is currently available through the EPO, will also have a workshop on site.
