Police Arrest 19 Liquor Counterfeiters

Police forces arrested 19 people suspected of selling fake liquor in Hebei, Shandong and Henan provinces in China.

The police have arrested 19 people suspected of selling fake liquor in Hebei, Shandong and Henan provinces. The counterfeit booze was worth approximately Rmb11 million (US$1.8 million) in total.

 

The Public Security Bureau of Hengshui first found that a man surnamed Zhang in Gucheng county purchasing counterfeit liquor from cities of Henan and Shandong and then reselling it in Hengshui city.

 

Authorities in Hengshui then collaborated on the investigation with the counterparts in Henan and Shandong and later made arrests.

 

More than 4,200 boxes of counterfeit liquor, beer and beverage worth Rmb1.2 million (US$196,000) possessed by six suspects in Hengshui and Hebei were seized. The police arrested 13 other suspects with the possession of more than 9,000 boxes amounting to about Rmb10 million (US$1.6 million) in Henan and Shandong.
