Dentons Promotes Scott Sloan To Director In Sydney

Dentons has promoted Scott Sloan to director in its Sydney intellectual property team. Sloan has practiced in the intellectual property field since 1988. He represents a wide range of clients in the life sciences, healthcare, manufacturing, FMCG, media and sustainable energy industries, as well as clients in the government and education sectors. His practical experience includes the conduct of significant copyright, trademark, patent, confidential information and competition law litigation, as well as advising in relation to the creation, structuring and commercialization of IP. He has acted for a leading multinational medical device company in one of Australia’s most significant patent damages hearings, represented Channel Nine in its successful protection of the well-known trademark the WORM, resisted an attempt to use representative proceedings in a patent infringement case, and is currently involved in a number of patent disputes, ranging from classic ‘generic versus originator’ pharmaceutical actions to disputes involving innovation patents for mechanical devices.
