Mark Metzeling Joins Macpherson Kelley in Brisbane
Issued: February 14 2018Mark Metzeling has joined Macpherson Kelley in Brisbane as a special counsel. He joined the firm from IP Gateway. Metzeling advises on the searching, availability and registrability of new trademarks in Australia, New Zealand and globally. He also has significant experience in policing and enforcing trademark rights, both nationally and internationally. He has been a long-serving member of executive committees, company boards, and was a small business owner. In January 2017, he was appointed to AIPPI’s trademarks standing committee. He has advised Queensland’s North West Commercial Industries on the negotiation of a significant software agreement with an Indian company, and successfully enabled the company to terminate its agreement without adverse repercussions. He also advised Dial Before You Dig and obtained registration of a certified trademark for this national referral service, without any objections raised by the ACCC or the Australian Trade Marks Office.
