Morgan, Lewis & Bockius Names Hosang Lee Partner

Issued: February 28 2019

Morgan, Lewis & Bockius has named Hosang Lee a partner in its Washington office. Lee, who focuses on patent prosecution, licensing, and litigation, has extensively represented clients based in South Korea and other parts of Asia. Lee previously practiced with McDermott Will & Emery; he joins 16 former partner colleagues and many other lawyers – including of counsel Daniel Bucca, who joined Morgan Lewis in December – in broadening the firm’s technology and life sciences industry focus in IP patent prosecution and litigation.

Lee represents clients involved in a wide range of industries and products, including automotive, lighting, semiconductors, telecommunications, electronics, fuel cells, solar and green technology, and medical and display devices. “The addition of Hosang and his team deepens our capabilities to serve clients throughout the Asia-Pacific region, which remains a chief priority for our firm, and further strengthens our Korea-focused practice,” said firm chair Jami McKeon. Lee is a member of the Korean Patent Bar and holds an electrical engineering degree from Seoul National University. He has represented many of Korea’s major companies in preparing and prosecuting both US and non-US patent applications, and he has extensively represented clients in IP strategic planning, patent portfolio management, licensing, litigation, and disputes and postissuance proceedings before the US Patent and Trademark Office.
