Franklin D Kang Has Joined Latham & Watkins
Issued: January 01 2009IP litigator Franklin D Kang has joined Latham & Watkins as counsel in the firm’s Los Angeles litigation department. Kang is noted for his work in Asia, having recently been involved in the prosecution and favourable settlement of several high-profile patent infringement suits involving patents relating to plasma display panel (PDP) technology used in plasma televisions and monitors on behalf of a Korea-based company that is one of the world’s largest PDP manufacturers.
Kang’s practice focuses primarily on complex patent cases involving electronics, computer hardware, software, semiconductor, biotech and biomedical, and related technologies.
“Our firm represents clients in a range of complex intellectual property matters and disputes,” said John Clair, the firm’s managing partner in Los Angeles. “This is particularly true in Los Angeles, which has become a major gateway to the US market for Asian companies.
